Fir Point Farms

Yesterday Jilian and I went on our first MOPPETS outing to Fir Point Farms. We enjoyed visiting with our friends, playing in the hay maze, pumpkin patch and eating yummy fresh made donuts!

Growing Up TOO FAST!

This morning as we were heading out the door to take Grace to school, Jilian HAD to have her backpack too, just like sissy. Then as we were getting in the car "I go school too". Once we got to school Jilian kept saying (while tugging on her car seat straps) "mommy out, I school". When did this happen? It feels like it was just yesterday that we brought Jilian home from the hospital, now she wants to go to school?! On the tough days, I can't wait for these days to be over, but on the good days it makes me SO sad that they already, almost over! Just a little reminder to myself, that these days...moments... are precious and they will be over before I know it.

October Craft Challenge

With Halloween being one of my favorite holidays, I couldn't wait to get busy on my craft for this month's Craft Challenge!

I decided to make some wooden block art to frighten all by saying BOO.

First I started with a piece of scrap wood (good thing my husband is a carpenter!) and with his help I learned to use a skill saw and cut the wood in thirds.


I then sanded and spray painted them black.


I choose some Halloween paper from my current stash (yes I have lots!) and cut them into strips.


I LOVE
vintage Halloween postcards. I just happened to have a sheet of Halloween paper that was made from vintage Halloween postcards. I picked my favorite images and covered the front of each block. The strips of paper I used to cover the sides of each block. Once the paper was mod podged on, I embellishment with card stock stickers to spell out BOO, the ribbon I won from Heidi is tied in a bow on top of each block and a craft wouldn't be complete without a little bling.

I hope you like them! I'll be making another craft or two or three inspired by Halloween and Fall, my favorite season (well, it ties with Spring!) :-)

I'm in heaven!

It may be 9:06pm on Sunday night, but I am in heaven! Both girls are sleeping in their beds, Jeremy is gone for the night and I.... am alone, in my new craft room about to work on my craft for The Monthly Craft Challenge. I even get to play on the computer without anyone making me feel guilty. Ahh..the little things! I hope you have a WONDERFUL week!

Grace's First Day of THIRD Grade!

This was the first year that Grace was not only VERY excited for school to start but not nervous at all. She couldn't wait to go to school and is so happy to have Mrs. Baker as her teacher.

A Summer In Review 2009
