Vintage Thingies Thursday

I LOVE vintage thingies! There is something about them that inspires me. Just recently I have finally been brave enough (before I just admired and moved on, thinking I couldn't find, because of my lack of skill, the "right" place for it) to buy the cool vintage thingies to use in my home. I've also started using this vintage inspiration in my paper crafting. Today for my first go at Vintage Thingies Thursday over at Colorado Lady, I would like to share the beginning of my vintage suitcase collection.

I've always liked vintage suitcases and how others have used them to decorate. This summer I was lucky enough to find two at different garage sales. One I got for $5, the other about $10. Their home is in our office. I hope to add to the collection as time goes on. Until then they double as storage. The one on top hides nicely the yucky bills and the small office items, blank CDs, address labels, iPod charge cable etc. The second suitcase holds extra file folders, contact paper, envelopes.

Welcome to your first VTT! I love vintage suitcases too. I don't have anywhere to display them though. Putting them in your office to hold extra supplies is a great idea. Nice finds.

Suitcases are good for storing collections of vintage thingies too.

I like that type of suitcase decorated with vintage luggage labels, though I don't have any of that kind myself.

i also share your love of vintage suitcases and i've got several that vary in shape, size and design...they're perfect for storing my fabric stash and other craft related goodies and they display beautifully one on top of the other.

A nice vintage showing today with your suitcases. I have a blue overnight bag that belonged to my mother years ago. I have not used it much, but it is in excellent condition. I hope someone appreciates when I am gone.

Welcome to VTT. The suitcases are great, they look so much better than cardboard storage boxes for holding bills etc.
