Two for One!

and

This week I get a Two for One! I get to share my December Monthly Craft Challenge AND share my craft at Vintage Thingies Thursday!!

I LOVE vintage postcards! There is something about them that inspires me. Although I have never been lucky enough to come across originals, there are many great sources online to find copies of the originals. These days I've been using them in my crafts.

For Christmas I created a wall hanging using my favorite Vintage Christmas Postcards. I printed them on card stock, added a little bling and antiqued the edges. I attached them to thin green satin ribbon by using mini library clips (Heidi - *wink* *wink*). The hanging is in my front room. I have a big empty white wall. I have some ideas for it (my husband's idea, an Elk head, ah, NO!) but until I figure out what to do with it, it has come in handy for my crafty creations. Enjoy!

My three favorites...

Lovely! I am always hesitant to use vintage paper goods - copies are perfect!

A nice idea for decorating for Christmas. Wish I would've saved some that belonged to our grandparents.

Copies are good for decorating. Also you can sometimes get slightly damaged or common ones cheaply.

Well the cards are a start but quick quick do something for that wall before the elk head takes over!
When we left TX I banned all things relating to dead animals from the house!

That's a wonderful way to display the vintage Christmas postcards. The graphics on the old cards are art....they certainly don't make them like that anymore.

What a cute idea.I collect and sell vintage post cards and love them. You can find them at antique stores sometime at price not to bad. Best to buy off season of course.
Making copies is a great idea for decorating or even scrap booking

but the originals are out standing. I especially love the ones that have been written on and stamped. Full of history
thanks for sharing

Such a pretty hanging for Christmas. You can find vintage postcards on eBay sometimes but even if you buy some it is best to use copies for your crafts. That way you have the image to use over and over or share with others!

I love it, I was totally kicking around the idea to do something similar. I saw one on a blog with Halloween ones and thought that it would be great to do a holiday one. Good to see how cute it turns out. Maybe I'll have to find some images at the Graphics Fairy and make my own too.
